Personal statement about ENG 307

By the end of this semester, we got a lot of knowledge and skills in different fields. English class had the role of learning several and important subjects that will help us now and in future. Therefore this paragraph will present what I had learned in this course.

As a next step after graduate we have to prepare our C.V (curriculum vitae), C.V provides an overview of a person's experience and qualifications, so I learned how to write it in official way that's will attract the employers. We need to write a "Cover Letter" that should be attached with C.V. in cover letter we introduce our selves to potential employers and explaining our suitability for the desired position.

Secondly we had an idea about "Job Search" methods and techniques, such as: Classified ads, Internet resources, employment agencies and Personal contacts. Using different methods at one time will speed the process finding a job.

Then "Interview" will take a place. We should be prepared, be on time, stay calm and show what you know. On other hand we have to avoid dressing wrong and being untruthful.  

Also we gain knowledge in running a meeting, being able to deal with problem & solution discussion, respect others opinion and try to figure one best decision.

Finally we improved our "Presentation Skills" by recording number of presentations done by us to learn from our mistakes, and at each time we become more confidence, having clear ideas and not forgetting to introduce ourselves in the beginning of the presentation.

The meeting was set on 20 Oct 2011 at 7:45 and finished at 8:15 in ADMC. Our group members were Butti Al Mehairbi chairmen and Saif Al Menhali was the note take while Mohammed Al Suwaidi was the meeting caller and the topic was about a bigger and better campus.

During the meeting, We were discussing in the meeting about A Bigger and Better Campus for ADMC. In the beginning of the meeting I introduced the topic for the members. The first issue that we have discussed is shortage of classrooms. Each year, the number of students in ADMC collage increases and the classrooms not enough. We thought if we build new more classrooms it will be suitable. The next topic was the parking, and we were having a hot discussion. Building a new building for parking’s only was a great idea. Moreover, we discussed the lack of services and old facilities in the ADMC. New laboratories and advanced library are needed so roughly. More and bigger restaurants and swimming pools are also needed in the collage. The last subject that we discussed in the meeting is about dorm. Some students in the ADMC are not from Abu Dhabi Island. Their parents are from Dubai, Al Ain…etc. These students required dorm in collage. In the meeting we converse the cost of it and the place for building.

 In conclusion, we saw that each point is required money and that will cost the collage also it require a big space in the campus. We thought if we have a new building for ADMC out from the island it will be great idea and we can use both campuses to avoid the crowed.

Objectives
We are aiming to discuss the main issues which make the ADMC campus crowded and we are going to suggest some solutions to make the students’ day in college more comfortable. The main issue is the shortage of classes vs. the increasing number of students which made the campus parking a mess. Moreover, the lack of services and aged facilities is another obstacle which stands against the flexibility to the students in the campus. From our informal survey, we found out that students who live out of the island are facing traffic issues which stand as a barrier on their way to access the campus, so they need a student’s dorm. We will discuss this topic and our survey to create a list of recommendations to be presented to the HCT administration and Simon Jones for action.
